7-Day Afterglow Escape Itinerary
Saturday - Arrival / Getting Settled
- Mid-Day Arrival / Airport Pick-up - Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
- Early Afternoon - Sosua / Cabarete Driving tour
- Mid-Afternoon - Bank to exchange currency & get groceries.
- 3PM - Standard time to take possession of your condo or villa
- 3PM - 6PM - Travel recovery - Get settled, nap, swim, chill.
- 6PM - Perla Marina stroll - Get familiar with our home & location.
- 7PM + - Natura Restaurant dinner with Jeff & Tammy. Mocktails!
Sunday - Perla Marina - Encuentro Beach Day
- Morning Breakfast - Budget freindly condo breakfast or Karaya Restuarant.
- Mid-Morning - Refresh / Relax / Read / Spa or Yoga Services
- 11AM - 4PM We all beach walk to neighboring Encuentro Beach, a surfers' beach providing rentals, boogie boards, SUPs. We pack lunch or depending on budget, can get a beachside lunch at Pura Vida or Coconuts Restaurant @ Hidaway Beach. A great day for us to share our stories, play, & people watch.
- 5PM - Back to Perla Marina to clean up.
- 7PM - Stroll up to Ceiba Cafe & Pizzaria for dinner.
Monday - Flexible Plan Your Activity Day
Today is a day when you go on one or two of your pre-planned activities. Most touring companies will pick you up in Perla Marina. You want to check with them. Iguana Mama and Cabarete Tours are really good about this. If not, we can easily schedule transportation. See our activities section for an exhaustive list!
- (Your Choice) Example: 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua or
- (Your Choice) Cascade falls or Mushroom waterfall Rapelling
- Cabarete Beach for dinner. Recommended: La Casita de Papi's, Lax Ojo, Tuva,
- Optional: Late night karaoke at Voy Voy or condo game night!
Tuesday - Rio San Juan Fishing Village
Today we get to show you the D.R.
- Slow roll in the AM out to Cabarete for my favorite breakfast spot Vagamundo Coffee & Waffles. Serious, our day would be complete if we stopped right there... Yum!
- We travel east on the Atlantic coast to Rio San Juan for a tranquil boat ride through the mangroves of the Laguna Gr- Gri. Opening to the ocean, we'll find a swimming spot and a beach lunch.
- Back to Cabarete, we're stalking out a smoothie, juice, or ice cream spot to park ourselves and watch the splendor of hundreds of kiteboarders.
- We get back to Perla Marina late afternoon to clean up.
- Late evening boat ride across La Boca Bay to Wilson's for a sunset, traditional seafood dinner.
Wednesday - Flexible Plan Your Activity Day
Today is a day when you go on one or two of your pre-planned activities. Most touring companies will pick you up in Perla Marina. You want to check with them. Iguana Mama and Cabarete Tours are really good about this. If not, we can easily schedule transportation. See our activities section for an exhaustive list! You know yourself, wanna go big? Do that. Want an easy horseback ride and a book on the beach? That's a good pace too.
- Condo or Karaya Breakfast
- (Your Choice) Example: Visit the Monkey Jungle or plan a horseback ride. Golf or spa services maybe? Big game fishing or diving? Plan your day.
- Cabarete for dinner. Recommended: Bliss, for Yamazato sushi / asian. Beachside Italian
Thursday - Sosua Bay Beach Day
Today we get to show you the D.R.
- Slow roll in the AM out to Cabarete for a healthy breakfast at Fresh Fresh.
- We travel west for a day at Playa Sosua in Sosua Bay. We'll have a beach day and pick out either snorkeling or Tammy's favorite, Stand-up Paddleboarding. Glass-bottom Kayaks are also available in the bay.
- We'll choose from the plentiful beach restaurants if we want lunch.
- Barter time. Lets walk the streets of Sosua for some souvineers.
- In the Afternoon, we headback to Perla Marina to clean up and record a podcast interview for the Afterglow Recovery community.
- We order massive amounts of local BBQ for a poolside feast.
- Game night, or we can choose to go out - whatever your comfort level is.
Friday - Flexible Plan Your Activity Day
Today is a day when you go on one or two of your pre-planned activities. Most touring companies will pick you up in Perla Marina. You want to check with them. - Friday Night - Formal "Success Dinner" You did it! We have a dinner at The Beach Club at Sea Horse Ranch.
SATURDAY: We arrange transportation to the airport for your departure.
